The Power of Credibility

Yaro Starak of Blog Traffic School has posted an interting article on the Power of Credibility:

One of the seriously positive benefits of blogging is the credibility you can build in your chosen field. If you blog well and blog often and the topics you write about inform people, you will quickly become associated with those topics as someone who knows something of value. This is called credibility.

Credibility is a powerful force and can have many positive impacts on your life. It can make it easier for you to sell something since your credibility is a stamp of approval on any products you offer. It can make it easier for you to open doors for partnerships since people want to work with you. It can get you clients because it’s a form of reputation that stimulates word of mouth. Of course, it can also get you blog traffic, which is nice because as I mentioned, a blog builds your credibility - that a good combination and symbiotic relationship.

ProBlogger Junior arrives

Warm congratulations to Darren Rowse of problogger on the arrival of his new son Xavier this morning (post does have baby shots).

While Darren is on paternity leave, problogger will be on a different mode of operation:

  • Regular ProBlogger columnist, Aaron Brazell, will be writing some guest posts over the coming two weeks
  • I’ve advanced posted a series of short ‘one question interviews’ with some bloggers that I admire (see the upcoming post explaining this) - these will run on a once per day basis for two weeks
  • There will probably be one or two other guest posts this week from another blogger (or two) who has volunteered to stop by
  • I won’t be responding to any emails over the next couple of weeks (unless I see them as urgent)

Congrats again Darren

PubSub responds to rumors of demise

Tags: , ,

Pubsub co-founder Bob Wyman has gone public about the recent rumors of the company’s impending demise and laid the blame on the former CEO Salim Ismail.

I believe firmly that the cause of our difficulties is not the team we have built nor is it the technology we’ve developed. Both are great. What has prevented us moving forward is a battle with a group of minority shareholders, some of whom claim to be lead by our ex-CEO Salim Ismail and are, in any case, primarily his "friends and family." This group is using very unusual clauses in our Shareholder’s agreements to block mergers or financings.

I think that the best assessment of the whole crisis was Michael Arrington who summed up nicely what i was thinking:

A founder should never try to solve problems by publicly attacking another founder. Who’s going to step in now and fund or buy the company with all of this incredibly immature drama being thrown about?

The TechCrunch article is to me on the mark in my opinion and also includes a reply in the comments from Bob Wyman.
