The End?

Hello all, its been a long time between posts and for that i apologise. The reasons, well i could give manybut it could be summed up simply as “blogger burnout” - to bring the daily articles meant reading many more blogs to seperate the good from the rest. And that took time. More time than in the end i was able to give. I have a full time job afterall and i don’t want to spend that time again blogging.

Burnout is a funny thing, for me it arrived suddenly and i thought leve it a few days, i will get back soon enough. But of course months have now passed and i haven’t got back. I am not sure that i ever will but i am not closing the door, just setting it ajar. I declare this blog … in hiatus.

I’m blogging now because a fellow blogger asked for some help. John of Duct Tape Marketing has written a book and is looking for some exposure and publicity. Sounds fair and i am happy to give it a mention. Check it out . Give it a look, i find his blog an interesting read and expect his book to be the same.

As for me, well - its a hiatus. You might see me back, just have to wait and see what happens!.

Wednesday Nights (for new readers)

For new readers, i am a big believer in “blog/life balance” where you can’t let blogging dominate your life. Thats why wednesday nights (other than a quick blogging session after work) are my night off to spend with a friend and relax a little. So if your wondering why there are less blog posts than usual thats why.

But that raises a question i’d like to ask you the reader, how do you keep your life and blogging in balance? If you would like to share then please share in the comments below!

New Features at WordPress.com

WordPress.com has added two new features:

Automatically Save your Drafts:Thanks to Robert Deaton, WordPress and WordPress.com now have an autosave feature. While you are working on a draft, your edits are automatically saved every minute. All of this happens in the background; you won’t even notice it except for a small notification message next to the Save button.

Related Posts from Around WP.com: Under your Dashboard next to the stats link, there should be a new menu item called “Related Posts.”

Basically what this does is look at what you write about across all your blogs and then (using tags) tries to find related posts across WordPress.com. The idea is to expose you to folks with similar interests. If you have a preferred language set in your profile it will only show you posts in that language. (Note this only works if the other blogs have correctly self-classified their language.)

Blog Soldiers Sold

Within two days of going on the market, Blogsoldiers has been sold according to an email from Pat Lovell, founder of Blog Soldiers:

I wanted to let everyone know that BlogSoldiers has a new owner! John Bambenek, John is from Illinois and he is very excited about taking over BlogSoldiers. Over the next week or two, I will be working with John to help him get organized and learn the system.

I really think this is exactly what BlogSoldiers needs, I haven’t had the time to focus on the site and John is going to work very hard at improving BlogSoldiers and making it a great Blog Community.

One of the first things we’ve done is put in an IPN system, Now, all credit purchases and Upgrades will be automatically added to your account, no more waiting for them to be manually added to your account.

John has told me he has some new features in mind, some new upgrades and many new ideas to make the site more active. So, keep watching for email updates from John and myself, as I will be here working with him.

I want to thank everyone for making BlogSoldiers a great place to get traffic for your Blogs and for everything you have done to help me over the last 16 months.

If you have any questions, comments or suggestions, feel free to send them in.
